Building a set
"Add a crate. Add another crate. Congratulations, it is a warehouse."
— Set Dresser Ilaya Ruun
Everything you place in the world goes through one small family of commands: /add to create,
/edit to change, /remove to delete, /list to see what is there and /trace to see the
invisible ones.
- Placing entities: the 5 commands every entity type shares
- Models: props, scenery and set dressing
- Lights: relighting a space for the camera
- Effects and sounds: particles, ambience and one-shot noises
- Weather: rain, snow, fog and the zones that keep them out
- Overlays: full-screen colour grades and filters
- Locks and spawn points: controlling where people enter and where they can go
- Remap: swapping one texture for another across the map
Everything here needs a community admin permission bit, and each page states its own. Most of the commands are not locked to the active director, though
/traceand/remapare while somebody is directing. The rest are not locked, so any community admin can change your set while a scene is running. See permission bits.
