Take a screenshot
Everything on the Photo Mode panel previews live, so the view is the shot.
Film Mode under it is for filming somebody else's scene, in filming a scene.
You need an account. The panel is not drawn until you are logged in.
In the menus: ESC → + PHOTO MODE
Hide the interface with Clean Shot
Clean Shot hides the HUD, the crosshair and the chat box, and the sprites and balloons drawn over characters.
Clean Shot does not hide the flashing things. The letterbox bars, a fade, a cinematic, the storm flash.
Take the shot
SCREENSHOT closes the menu and takes the picture. The menu closes first, so neither it nor the cursor lands in the frame.
The file goes to GameData/StoryForce/screenshots, named shot followed by the date and time, like screenshots/shot2026-08-28_19-04-11.jpg. If the install is not writable, StoryForce uses theStoryForce/screenshots folder in your operating system's user-data folder instead. A configured fs_homepath also changes that location.
The button always shoots immediately. For a countdown, type:
/sf_snap 3
Prefer the console?
With no argument it shoots at once. That line is the only signal a shot happened, because the engine's own confirmation is suppressed.
/sf_photorestore is what RESET CAMERA runs, and it is silent either way:
/sf_photorestore
It restores the FOV and third-person camera position values saved at the start of the session. It does not clear the filter, vignette, grain, depth of field, Clean Shot or Letterbox.
