Record and play back a demo
A demo saves your session for playback in StoryForce. Recording uses the console and has no menu.
Press the ~ key to open the console.
Record a session
Join a server, then start recording:
Use a new name each time to avoid overwriting an earlier recording. Leave the name off to use the date and time.
Stop recording
Record automatically
/sf_autodemo 1
Starts recording when you join a server or load a new map. It ships off.
Automatic recordings use the date, time and map name. Set it to 0 to turn off future automatic recordings.
Use /stoprecord to stop the current one.
Choose the recording indicator
/sf_demorecnote 3
Chooses how the game shows that you are recording.
| Value | Indicator |
|---|---|
0 | Hidden |
1 | Standard recording text |
2 | Small recording text |
3 | Red dot at the top right, the default |
Both settings are remembered and print nothing when changed.
Play it back
/demo dockscene
Playback disconnects you from the server and loads the recording.
Files are saved in the demos folder inside your writable StoryForce folder, with a .dm_26 extension.
