Set up the radial menus
Nine wheels of 8 slots, each slot running one console command, all filled from a text file you edit.
In the menus: ESC → CONTROLS → StoryForce
Bind a wheel
The first 3 rows on the StoryForce page of the Controls screen are Radial Menu 1, Radial Menu 2 and Radial Menu 3. Select a row and press the key you want, exactly as for any other control.
Wheels 4 to 9 have no row. Bind them from the console instead:
/bind <key> sf_radial4
Open a wheel
Press the key you bound. The key is a toggle rather than a hold.
Slot 1 is at the top and the rest run clockwise. Move the pointer over a slot and press MOUSE1. Its command runs and the wheel closes.
MOUSE1 on the centre or an empty slot closes the wheel without running anything. The same key and ESC do too. Press another bound wheel key to switch straight to that wheel.
Your movement and your other keys are frozen while a wheel is open, the way they are while the chat box is up.
Edit the wheel file
Use the Radial Menu Editor to arrange the slots and download radialmenu.cfg.
Replace your existing file with the download, then run /radialreload in-game.
You can also edit the file by hand.
The wheels use radialmenu.cfg in your storyforce folder. StoryForce ships a ready-made layout.
If no file is available, the game writes a smaller starter layout when it next reads the file.
There are 2 kinds of line, a slot line and a name line:
<wheel>|<slot>|<title>|<description>|<command>
name|<wheel>|<display text>
<wheel> is 1 to 9 and <slot> is 1 to 8. <command> is whatever you would type in the console, with the leading slash optional. Three lines from the shipped file:
name|3|Direct
3|1|Fade|Open Fade Menu|ui_openmenu ingame_sf_fade
3|4|Scene Info|Populate the scene information|ui_openmenu ingame_sf_sceneinfo
Chain commands in one slot with a semicolon, so em sit; say Taking a seat sits down and speaks. Lines starting with // and blank lines are ignored, and a wheel name may not contain a |.
Update an older wheel file
If these entries no longer open a screen, replace their commands and run /radialreload:
| Entry | Command |
|---|---|
| NPC Say | ui_openmenu ingame_sf_npcchatter |
| Effects | ui_openmenu ingame_sf_effects |
Prefer the console?
/bind <key> sf_radial1
sf_radial1 through sf_radial9 open wheels 1 to 9.
