Set your presentation options

Twelve rows set how StoryForce presents menus, cameras, weather, effects and pickers on your copy of the game.

In the menus: ESC → SETUP → Presentation

Set the accent colour

Accent Colour takes a 6-digit hex colour, such as 3AA6E8, and repaints the interface's headings, rules, borders and button labels. DEFAULT clears your personal colour and follows the server's accent again.

Set menu sounds and scale units

Menu Sounds picks the sound set the menus answer with: Off, StoryForce or Base Game.

Scale Display chooses how character scale appears on the Current screen: Number, Feet / Inches or Metres / Centimetres. See read the Current screen.

Set camera motion and underwater tint

Meditate Camera ships on. While your character meditates it swings the camera round behind them and pulls back over about 3 seconds. Coming back takes the same 3 seconds. It only does anything in third person. Meditate has the pose itself.

Block Director Cameras refuses every director camera takeover of your view.

It does not get you out of the freeze. A camera track that holds the cast still holds you still either way. You keep your own view, you can look around and chat, and you cannot move until the director releases you. See play a camera track.

Underwater Tint is Off, Subtle or Full, shipping on Full. It scales the blue tint that covers the screen underwater rather than switching it, so Subtle still moves on the same slow wave.

Set weather and effect range

Weather Renderer is StoryForce, Auto or Engine. Auto ships selected and picks the engine renderer on maps built with weather brushes. Weather ambience explains when to change it.

Placed Effect Range decides how far away a placed scene effect keeps emitting:

  • Near is 1,500 units
  • Normal is 3,000 units and ships selected
  • Far is 6,000 units
  • Unlimited never stops distant effects

Show favourite and current picks

Favourites System shows or hides those two shortcut folders without deleting what you saved. The two label fields rename them. Keep favourite and current picks covers saving, moving and clearing entries.

Set the model picker icon size

Menu Icon Size sets how many portraits sit on each row of the model grid under Current → MODEL:

  • Base shows 6
  • Medium shows 9 and ships selected
  • Small shows 12
  • X Small shows 15

The portraits shrink to fit, so a smaller size shows more models before you scroll. The grid opens on your current model. Change your model covers the grid itself.
