Open the Direct menu
The Direct button appears for community admins and above, and for anyone who has been placed in director mode.
In the menus: ESC → Direct
What each row opens
- Start Directing - takes the chair, and reads Stop Directing once you do, covered in take the director's chair
- Scene - the scene control panel, covered in set the scene
- Centersay - send a message across the middle of one screen or everybody's, covered in announce a message on screen
- Director Notes - a channel for the people running the scene, covered in talk on a director channel
- Stunts - loads a cue sheet of sequenced commands to fire quickly, covered in run a stunt cue sheet
- Tools - who is connected, the server's Health Check, your 4 self-state toggles and controls for restraining another player, with the self-state controls covered in move around while you build
Fades, lighting, music, the crawl, weather, water, cinematics, knockdown and Under Fire all hang off the Scene panel.
Rows you cannot use
A row you cannot use is dimmed. Selecting it opens nothing and prints the reason.
StoryForce prints the first reason that applies:
- A scene is in progress - only directors can use this.
- Director mode required.
- Insufficient permissions.
