Save and load a scene
A scene file keeps a dressed map on disk.
A scene saves:
- placed entities and locks
- NPCs, their routes, weapons, gun skins, saber stances and attacks aimed at other NPCs
- NPC vehicle seats
- groups and animation tracks
- scene information, the mission clock, lighting and light zones
- hidden map models and map sound and effect edits
- the crawl, knockdown dressing and music
- water, gravity and world tilt
- Under Fire settings
- the camera track, trigger bindings and cues
- script notes
It does not currently keep camera Look At targets, Under Fire follow targets or firing state, or overlays aimed at one player. Under Fire shooters return disarmed with no follow target. NPC attacks aimed at players do not survive loading.
You need director mode.
A valid scene load replaces the placed scene state. StoryForce reads and checks the file first, so an invalid file changes nothing.
In the menus: ESC → Direct → Scene → SCENE
Save a scene
- Type a name into Save as:.
- Tick Private to keep it on your account only.
- Select SAVE.
The name can contain up to 32 letters, numbers or underscores. Scenes are filed under your account and the current map. Reusing one of your names opens an overwrite confirmation.
Share a scene or make it private
Select one of your scenes, then MAKE PRIVATE or MAKE PUBLIC.
A private scene is visible only to your account in game, including when other players have director mode. The server console can still access it.
Trigger cues need a public scene. Making it private stops existing cues from loading it.
Load a scene
- Select the scene in the list.
- Select LOAD.
- Read the popup, then select YES.
Large scenes load in stages to reduce the risk of client crashes.
Loading replaces previous map edits. Restart the map to restore map entities already removed from it.
The filter above the list starts on This map - mine, and also offers:
- This map - all shows every scene you can access on this map
- Everything shows accessible scenes from every map
A scene from another map loads on the current map after a warning. Its saved positions can fall outside this map.
Loading a scene replaces the whole script on its saved channel. It does not merge old lines or join you to the channel.
Loading an older scene without gravity settings restores normal gravity and an upright world.
DELETE appears only on your own scene.
Set the map's default scene
A default scene loads on its own when the map loads.
Set Current as Map Default and CLEAR DEFAULT require leadership admin.
The map-default copy is public. It stays public if you later make the original private.
