Fill in a community character's record
Write everything other players learn about a shared character.
Clerical admins have the pool-edit permission under the shipped settings, and you need a character highlighted on the COMMUNITY tab.
In the menus: ESC → Character → Manage → COMMUNITY → select a character → RECORD
Setting the listed name and designations
Type into Listed name and press SET, or clear the field to send none.
STATUS..., FACTION... and RANK... each open the same designation popup edit a character's record uses.
Character rank counts down, and rank 1 is the highest. It gates /add lock and rank spawn points,
and has nothing to do with admin rank, which counts the other way.
Bringing a community character back to life
Force sensitive is a checkbox, and sets whether the character reads as Force sensitive on the website record.
Alive: takes yes or no, and it is the one staff power a player does not have over their own
character.
Community characters are always Supporting.
Writing the public FYI note
In the menus: ESC → Character → Manage → COMMUNITY → select a character → FYI & POI
FYI note takes up to 200 characters and may contain spaces.
POI star beside it takes a palette code or a hex value and colours the character's floating point-of-interest marker.
FYI and POI covers what a reader does at the other end.
Adding points of interest
A point of interest is information a nearby player uncovers only if they qualify for it.
- Select FORCE or SKILL to choose the gate. A Skill dropdown appears for a skill gate.
- Type a level in Level (1-3). That is what a viewer needs before they see anything.
- Type the text in Info, up to 120 characters.
- Select ADD POI.
Each filled row carries its own DELETE, and WIPE ALL clears the character.
A community character can hold six POIs. The menu adds one message to each, while the console can add or clear further messages at levels 0 to 3.
Prefer the console?
Both listedname and fyi take the rest of the line, and both accept none to clear.
status and faction work the same way, and 0 clears.
Use the POI number from /communitychars poi <id> list to change one message tier.
Passing noneclears that tier. Clearing its last tier removes the whole POI.
