Community management
"The Empire maintained order with stormtroopers. I do it with a red pen and increasingly passive-aggressive HoloNet notices."
— Vellity Spaceport Administrator
Looking after the people on a server rather than a scene:
- XP
- Moderation
- Accounts
- Character
- The shared pool of community characters.
I want to…
- understand admin ranks - what a community, clerical or leadership admin can do, and what needs no rank at all
- create and manage accounts - make a new account, and move somebody through membership and admin standing
- disable and restore an account - shut an account out at login, and the two routes that put it back
- edit a character's record - change another member's character, from its listed name to its spawn loadout
- assign and change a mentor - assign, replace or clear a mentor and keep track of outstanding XP claims
- award XP - give XP to a player from the roster, and read what the server has already paid out
- award a whole cast at once - mark everyone in a scene and pay all of them in one press
- hold XP back until the work is done - raise a claim now and approve or cancel it later
- drop an XP pickup - leave a box on the map that pays whoever walks through it
- see who is online - the roster of everyone connected, with their characters, coordinates and body state
- kick or ban a player - get somebody off the server, and decide how long they stay off
- build a community character - add a shared character to the pool with its model and details, edit it later, or delete it
- gear up a community character - the sabers, spawn loadout, skills, Force powers and XP a shared character carries
- fill in a community character's record - the name, designations, FYI note and points of interest other players read
