Call someone on your comlink

Reach someone who is not in the room. Your comlink must be on, and set your comlink state covers the 4 states.

There is no menu for sending a call. Type /com or /comm into the console.

Only /reply and /r also work in chat.

Who else reads your call

The recipient reads it at full strength. Bystanders hear ordinary speech near the caller and whisper-volume speech near the receiver.

At Normal hearing, the full-strength distances are 370 units from the caller and 60 from the receiver.

A scanner needs Tech 3, range to either caller, and all 3 comlinks set to On.

It receives an [Intercepted] line. Tech skills covers the controls.

Calling one person

comm is an accepted alias for com.

Your character raises a comlink and holds it there as the call goes out.

Answering without typing a name

/reply calls back whoever commed you last. r is an accepted alias, and both work from the chat line as well as the console.

A call to a comlink that is off, out of range or on no response comes back with a notice in your console naming that state.

Your own [Com for …] line still goes out as local speech around you.

The intended recipient gets no full-strength delivery.
