Position holstered weapons
Set where your model carries weapons when they are put away.
Pick a weapon and bone
ESC → Character → Holster Generator, under TOOLS
- Select a weapon from Weapon:.
- Select Upper back, Lower back, Left hip or Right hip from Bone:.
- Tick Preview current holster to see the other configured weapons alongside it.
- Select EDIT IN WORLD.
None on the Bone picker hides that weapon. Give it a bone before trying to move it.
Place it on your body
The editor holds your character still while you adjust the selected weapon:
- mouse wheel changes the highlighted position or rotation
- TAB moves to the next parameter, Shift+TAB moves back
- MOUSE1 saves the layout
- R restores the selected weapon to its last saved placement
- arrow keys orbit the camera and zoom it
- MOUSE2 or ESC returns to the panel
Return to the panel to pick another weapon or bone.
Save the layout
Select SAVE CFG, then DONE to close the editor and restore your camera. DONE or ESC on the panel discards any changes since the last save.
The file is models/players/<model>/holster.cfg in your local StoryForce files. It takes effect on
your computer straight away. Include it at that path in the model's .pk3 to share the layout.
Things to note
- The layout belongs to the model. Every character using that model on your computer uses the same file.
- A skin can override it. If
holster_<skin>.cfgexists, the editor warns that it takes precedence for that skin.
Prefer the console?
/holsteredit starts the editor. It prints nothing on success.
/holsteredit
The editor also accepts these commands:
/holsteredit reloaddiscards edits and reads the saved file again/holsteredit seedstarts from Kyle's reference layout/holsteredit slot <1-16>selects a weapon slot/holsteredit exitcloses without saving further changes
These commands print nothing on success. /holsteredit help lists the options.
/holsteredit save writes the file. With one weapon configured on the gran model, it reports:
