Write your FYI and POI

An FYI is a public note.

A POI holds details others read nearby, with a Force power or skill gate.

Write your FYI

ESC → Character → Current

  1. Select the note area under FYI, empty or not.
  2. Enter the note into FYI:. It takes 128 characters.
  3. Select APPLY.

Leave the field empty and select APPLY to clear the note.

Add a POI

Select EDIT POI on the FYI rail.

  1. Select ADD POI.
  2. Select FORCE SENSE or a skill tab.
  3. Fill in any of Level 0 to Level 3. Each level takes 256 characters. Level 0 needs no training.
  4. Select SAVE.

A Force Sense tab reads against Force Sense. A skill tab reads against the named skill.

Academia also reveals Artisan, First Aid, Tech and Mechanics clues, up to level 2.

Carry up to 6 POIs at once. DELETE removes one and WIPE ALL removes every POI on the character.

Under Your POI star colour:, enter one palette character (0-9, a-z or A-Z) or a hex colour such as #ff7828. Select SET, or DEFAULT to return to the gate's colour.

This sets the colour for the background of your character menu, and the icons that others see above your head.

How others read them

Another player aims at you and runs /inspect, or names you from anywhere with /inspect [name or id].

At their crosshair, a yellow * after your name means you have an FYI.

A second *, in your POI star colour, means they can detect one of your POIs.

Detection does not always let them read it.

What they get depends on what they have:

  • the note, which needs nothing
  • the Species, Homeworld, Faction and Rank rows, which need Diplomacy 1
  • each POI, which needs a reader within 200 units and enough rank to read its level

Mind Trick hides the caster's real identity, FYI and POIs from affected players. Active Sense 3 or higher reveals them.

A disguise using the real name leaves those details visible.

Things to note

  • Undetectable POIs stay hidden. A reader without enough rank to detect one is not told it is there.

/myfyi wipe clears the note.

Pass - in place of the skill name for a Force gate. Level 0 needs no skill or Force rank.

Any POI you qualify for follows on its own line, coloured to its gate. The result appears across the centre of your view.

Run /inspect with nothing after it to read whoever is under your crosshair.

Set the star colour with /character set poicolor. default restores the gate's colour.
