Play a camera track

Playing a track takes the view off every person in the room and flies it down the waypoints you built.

In the menus: ESC → Design → Camera → the 3. PLAYBACK band

Set up a camera track covers the panel and how the waypoints got there.

Playing a track to the room

Set Duration, then press PLAY TRACK. A track needs at least two waypoints.

Duration is the seconds the whole flight takes.

The panel runs from 1 to 60. Waypoint holds are added on top, so a 10-second track with two 3-second holds runs for 16 seconds.

Centersays stay visible during camera movement.

Rehearsing on your own screen

Press PREVIEW LOCALLY in the 1. TRACK band to fly the track for yourself and nobody else.

A rehearsal honours Instant Jump to Shot but ignores Freeze Players, so a test never holds the room still.

Holding players still

Tick Freeze Players before you play. It takes movement from every real player, you included, and leaves looking around, chat and emotes working. NPCs keep moving.

Instant Jump to Shot cuts straight to the first waypoint and straight back at the end, with no fly-in or fly-out. Both boxes clear every time the panel opens.

Stopping a camera

STOP gives everyone their own view back and releases everything at once: any still or cycle, the freeze, every flight in progress, and every trigger box holding somebody on a shot.

Trigger boxes stay armed. Somebody still inside one is picked up again on the next frame. Leave the box, disarm camera boxes, or remove its camera binding when the release needs to last.

Things to note

  • A player who ticks Block Director Cameras keeps their view, but not their feet. The setting never leaves their machine, so a freeze play holds them anyway. They see an entirely ordinary screen, cannot move, and have nothing in the game to explain why.

Prefer the console?

linear drops the eased fly-in and fly-out, snap is Instant Jump to Shot, and freeze is Freeze Players. Anything the command does not recognise after the track is read as a number of seconds.

The console accepts 1 to 600 seconds. Giving a duration stores it on that track.

A track's nickname works in place of its number. For a track named intro:

/camera play intro 10

/camera test takes the same arguments and rehearses on your screen alone. /camera stop releases everything:

/camera test [track] [secs] [linear] [snap] [freeze]
/camera stop
