Add weather
In the menus: ESC → Direct → Scene → WEATHER
Start an effect
Choose from Effect:, which offers Rain, Snow, Sand, Fog, Ground Mist, Spacedust, Wind, Lightning, Heat Haze, Blizzard, Sandstorm and Volcanic.
Set Amount:, then select ADD EFFECT.
Amount: is one slider relabelled for the effect you picked. Most run 1 to 10.
Lightning uses 10 to 300 seconds between strikes, so a bigger number means fewer strikes.
Blizzard combines snow and wind.
Sandstorm combines sand and wind.
Volcanic fills the air with ash and embers.
Tint: appears for Rain, Snow, Sand, Fog and Ground Mist, offering 7 named colours and Custom.
Direction: appears for Wind alone. It is the way the wind blows towards, and rain and snow slant with it.
Retune, remove and clear
The list under ADD EFFECT is what is running. Select a row to mark what the buttons act on:
- REMOVE takes the selected effect away
- SET AMOUNT retunes it to whatever the slider is showing
- CLEAR ALL takes every weather effect away at once, with no confirmation
SET AMOUNT reads the slider in the selected row's unit, which need not be the unit the combo above is sitting on. Pick the row, read the label, then move the slider.
Use MAP FOG to hide or restore fog built into the map. It does not remove Fog, Ground Mist or any other weather effect a director added from this panel.
Fire a strike on a cue
/lightning fires a single strike straight away, so lightning can land on a line of dialogue. There
is no button for it, and it prints nothing when it works.
/lightning
It needs lightning already running, and it is limited to one strike every 3 seconds across the whole server.
Things to note
- The map holds 5 particle effects and 2 winds at a time.
Prefer the console?
The number it answers with is the entity id. Three properties change afterwards, all silently, and default restores an effect's own starting amount:
/edit <id> amount <n|default>
/edit <id> tint <#RRGGBB|none>
/edit <id> dir <compass point>
/remove <id> takes one effect away. /remove weather confirm takes them all.
