Place a readable screen
Leave a datapad or console for players to read.
In the menus: ESC → Design → Screens
Place a screen
- Select NEXT TYPE to choose a datapad or console.
- Leave Model blank to use its default model.
- Leave Rank on Everyone so anyone can read it.
- Enter a Title and write in the message field. Press Enter for a new paragraph and check the limit beside Type.
- Select PLACE IN WORLD, aim where you want it and press MOUSE1 to place it.
- Press MOUSE2 to return to the panel.
During placement, Tab cycles the controls and the mouse wheel adjusts the selected value. Each press of MOUSE1 places another copy, with the text and rank saved automatically.
Drag across text to select it. Use Ctrl+A to select all, Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste.
To restrict reading, select Rank and choose one of your server's ranks from the list. Characters at that rank or a higher rank can read it.
Read a screen
Stand nearby, aim at the screen and type /inspect. Use the mouse wheel to scroll and ESC to close it.
Change its text
Open ESC → Design → Manage, select the screen and select EDIT. Change the fields, then select APPLY TEXT to save them before loading another screen. PLACE IN WORLD creates another screen.
