Dress a player or NPC

This screen hangs something off a bone on any connected player, including you, or a world NPC.

In the menus: ESC → Design → Attach

Choose who to dress and what to attach

Fill the panel in from the top:

  1. Step to a target with < and >. It walks connected players first, then world NPCs.
  2. Set Kind to Model, Effect, Light or Sound.
  3. Select BROWSE for the asset. A light sets its colour in world instead.
  4. Set Bone, which starts on Chest and offers the same 15 bones the character screen does.

Changing Kind clears the Asset line.

Place it on the body

Select PLACE IN WORLD.

A stand-in of the target's body stands at your position, so you can judge the fit from outside.

For a model, select AUTO-ALIGN to set a starting position and rotation on the chosen bone.

  • MOUSE1 sends what you have dialled, placing on the first press and applying changes after
  • the mouse wheel adjusts whichever dial is active, and TAB moves to the next
  • R takes the dials back to the values you last sent
  • the arrow keys orbit and zoom the camera
  • MOUSE2 goes back to the panel without ending the session

The dials each kind offers

  • Model gives Pos X, Pos Y, Pos Z, Pitch, Yaw, Roll and Scale
  • Light gives Pos X, Pos Y, Pos Z, Red, Green, Blue and Intensity
  • Effect gives the model dials, minus Scale, plus Interval and Mode
  • Sound gives Mode and Interval only

Show, tune and remove an attachment

Band 3. ON THIS TARGET lists up to 5 of what the target is wearing. Each row carries 3 controls:

  • the checkbox hides and shows the attachment, keeping its bone and offsets, so you can stage a costume and reveal it on cue
  • EDIT reopens the editor on that attachment
  • REMOVE takes it off

/add bolt <target> effect <effect> <loop|once> <bone> [x y z] [pitch yaw roll] [interval ms]
/add bolt <target> light <r> <g> <b> <intensity> <bone> [x y z]
/add bolt <target> sound <sound> [loop|once] [interval ms]

A target is a player name or client number, an NPC by name, or npc:<id> to be certain.

Properties are pos, ang, scale, bone, color, intensity, source, loop, interval and show.

/remove bolt <id> takes one off. /remove bolt all clears every attachment a director has placed and leaves people's own 4 slots alone.

/attachedit starts the same editor PLACE IN WORLD does, reading the panel's form.

/attachedit commit sends the current values and /attachedit exit closes it.
