Open the Design menu
Most of the building tools sit behind one button. You need community admin or above.
In the menus: ESC → Design
What each row opens
Selecting a row closes the Design menu and the ESC bar.
Manage sits full-width across the top and lists models, effects, sounds, lights, locks, screens, overlays and spawn points. It also lists world POIs and placemarks so you can put them into groups. NPCs, attachments, weather, shelters, trigger boxes and light zones stay in their own tools.
PLACE puts new things into the world:
- POI - a point of interest, open to everyone or gated on Force sensitivity or a skill
- NPCs - spawns and directs the NPC cast
- Models -
.md3scenery models and.glmcharacter models - Effects - one-shot or looping particle effects
- Sounds - ambient sounds
- Lights - coloured lights
- Props - stamps a saved set of dressing into the world as one piece
- Spawns - respawn points, open to everyone or gated by rank
- Placemarks - spots you can jump yourself or other people to
- Attach - hangs a model, effect, light or sound on a player or an NPC
EDIT holds:
- Locks - seals a door or trigger outright, or gates it to one rank and above
- Remap - swaps one of the map's textures for another, for everyone on the server
VISUAL holds:
- Camera - builds waypoint camera tracks and flies them on every screen at once
- Overlay - pushes a full-screen filter to one player or to everyone
- Screens - places readable datapads and consoles that players read with
/inspect
MANAGE holds:
- Manage - the same screen as the full-width Manage row
- Trigger Boxes - invisible boxes that fire saved commands when someone walks in or presses use
- Trace - draws marker overlays on what is placed in the world, for you alone
Rows you cannot use
A row you cannot use is drawn dimmed. Selecting it writes the reason along the bottom of the panel.
StoryForce prints the first reason that applies:
- A scene is in progress - only directors can use this. - somebody is directing and this tool is now theirs
- Director mode required. - the tool needs director mode at all times
- Insufficient permissions. - your admin rank does not carry this tool
Prefer the console?
Run /add with nothing after it to list what it can place.
/add bolt places attachments but is missing from the listing. The word after /add or /remove
decides the permission, graded the same way the menu rows are.
